Google Introduces New Store Widgets for Websites

Google recently introduced 2 new store widgets for merchants to add to their websites. In addition to the existing Top Quality Store widget, the Store Ratings widget and the Generic Store widget are now available. These widgets aim to further enhance online store credibility and customer experience.

What’s New in Store Widgets ?

Google says e-commerce merchants can now add 3 types of widgets to their websites:

  • Top Quality Store on Google – This widget is available only to merchants who have received a High-Quality Store rating on Google. It includes a summary of store reviews, policies, and service information.
  • Store Ratings Widget – This is for stores that have a rating but don’t have a High-Quality badge. This widget gives customers a glimpse of the store’s ratings and policies.
  • Generic Store Widget – This is a basic widget designed for stores without a rating or quality badge. It displays key information about the merchant’s services and policies.

What are its benefits?

According to Google, these store widgets address two key challenges facing merchants – visibility and trust. Using widgets gives shoppers an early idea of a store’s quality and service, encouraging them to shop with confidence.

Increase in Sales

Google also shared that stores that installed store widgets on their websites saw an average of 8% more sales within 90 days than stores without widgets. This demonstrates that widgets not only strengthen brand recognition but also help increase revenue.

Why should we care?

If you’re an e-commerce merchant, be sure to try these new Google Store widgets on your website. They not only highlight your store’s quality and service but also help build customer trust. As a result, both conversions and sales are likely to increase.
